Cleaning Day
Yesterday, following my abortive attempt to get a Forgejo runner fully operative, I did as I said I would in my previous post, and borrowed the pre-commit hook from Petrel’s repo and put it in all three of Thrasher’s repos.
This led to a pretty big number of small changes, mostly from
golangci-lint but also a few from go fmt.
I didn’t do this initially, because Thrasher was – initially – a quick-and-dirty project. A proof of concept, to see if a thing I was interested in was possible. I suppose this means that it’s a real project now, as if the fact that I use it constantly didn’t already mean that.
It also means that I should apply this to Gnatwren as well. The linter in particular makes some really good suggestions for code quality and clarity changes.
For today, my goals are to get filters/queries working on the media side of Thrasher. That’s what I was setting out to do when I fell down the runner rabbit hole. Also, once that’s working it’ll be possible to build a web UI for the media side of things, but that won’t be work for today.
Later…
Some life stuff got in the way, but I did manage some media work before late this evening. Catalog initialization is fleshed out, and the structure of the media catalog is coming into focus. I think tomorrow it’ll be time to get filters working, which will unlock everything else as nearly all other ops work on filtersets.
