I started work today on playlists in Thrasher. It was mostly groundwork and UI exploration, so that isn’t what this entry is about.

This entry is about how happy I am with the new devmode feature in the fpc-ctl script. It’s a simple idea, and a borrowed one (including from Hugo, the static site generator that I use for this blog). But it’s a really good one that saves a lot of time and faffing about.

I joked about rebuilding Stapler in my last entry. I am not doing that currently, and likely won’t in the near future, but I have been thinking about elevating fpc-ctl to a first-class project status, so that there would be a single install of it per machine and all configuration would be on a project level.

No, no, the right thing to do is to have a single authoritative version on my machines, and to have clones in every project repo that uses it. The clones keep themselves up-to-date, and each project is independent (until I start working on it again).
